PROGRESS PROFILES

A precise solution for almost every junction in the interior
Progress Profiles operates in the details where materials meet and architecture is either resolved cleanly or left visibly unfinished. Founded in Italy in 1985, the company has developed one of the most extensive portfolios of technical and decorative profiles for floors, walls, stairs, bathrooms, terraces and contemporary interior construction.
The range begins with profiles for ceramic tiles, natural stone, parquet, laminate, resilient flooring and carpet, but extends considerably further. Solutions are available for protecting exposed edges, connecting materials of different thicknesses, forming expansion joints, finishing steps and resolving changes in floor level. Aluminium, stainless steel, brass and technical polymers are offered in numerous sections, dimensions and finishes, allowing a profile to disappear into the construction or become a deliberately visible architectural line.
Progress Profiles is particularly valuable because its catalogue follows the complete perimeter of an interior. It includes conventional and recessed skirting, flush-to-wall details, shadow gaps, ceiling profiles and channels for integrated LED lighting. Proshadow Ceiling creates a controlled recessed line between the wall and plasterboard ceiling, with versions that can also accommodate indirect light. Together with recessed skirting and flush architectural profiles, it allows the same minimal language to continue from floor level to the ceiling.
The bathroom is approached with the same attention to junctions. Shower channels, sloped profiles, waterproofing membranes, glass-panel supports, shelves and finishing elements can be coordinated as part of a complete walk-in shower. Rather than improvising individual details on site, the system resolves drainage, falls, waterproofing and exposed edges before the final surface is installed.
Behind the visible profiles, the company develops systems for uncoupling, waterproofing, drainage, sound reduction and electric underfloor heating. These products respond to the less visible causes of failure in tiled surfaces, including substrate movement, trapped moisture, insufficient drainage and thermal stress. Adjustable supports and aluminium substructures extend the same approach to balconies, roof terraces, pool areas and raised exterior floors.
The breadth of the range is matched by an increasingly developed approach to colour and materiality. Kaleidos brings together finishes inspired by stone, concrete, wood and metal, allowing technical profiles, decorative trims and skirting boards to coordinate more naturally with contemporary tiles and interior surfaces. The profile no longer has to look like a generic metal accessory; it can blend into the material palette or introduce a precise contrasting line.
This combination of technical depth and aesthetic variety is what distinguishes Progress Profiles. Whatever the condition—a tile edge, a junction between parquet and ceramic, a recessed skirting, an illuminated ceiling detail, a frameless shower or a raised terrace—the catalogue is likely to contain a profile or a complete system developed specifically for it.
Progress Profiles gives architects control over details that are often left to improvisation during installation. The result is not simply a better-finished edge, but a more coherent interior in which movement, water, light and material transitions have been resolved as part of the architecture.
