ITALIANA PARQUET
Italian-made wood flooring shaped by colour, craftsmanship and technical experience
Italiana Parquet brings more than three decades of experience to a contemporary interpretation of natural wood flooring. Based in Fabriano, the company combines careful timber selection with Italian finishing expertise, offering engineered parquet in a broad range of colours, formats and surface treatments. Its floors can provide a restrained architectural foundation or become a defining element through pattern, texture and tonal contrast.
The present company was established in 2021 through a strategic alliance between IPF and Gruppo Margaritelli, the group behind Listone Giordano and one of Italy’s most important names in engineered wood flooring. The partnership connects Italiana Parquet with a wider industrial culture built around timber selection, structural stability and control of the production chain, while allowing the brand to retain its own identity and approach to custom-made surfaces.
Oak is central to the portfolio, with selected ranges produced predominantly from French oak, chosen for the depth of its grain, its tonal balance and its ability to respond to brushing, colouring and oil treatments. Rather than covering the character of the timber, the finishes are developed around its natural variations. Knots, mineral marks, flame grain and changes in tone remain visible according to the chosen grade, giving the finished floor the authenticity of a natural material rather than the repetition of an industrial surface.
This approach is particularly evident in Materica, a collection developed in 25 contemporary colours and several visual grades. More uniform selections sit alongside expressive boards with open knots, filled cracks, colour movement and occasional traces of sapwood. Brushed surfaces remove the softer part of the timber to reveal the direction of the grain, while sawn treatments introduce fine transverse marks that give the floor a stronger tactile presence.
Finishing is one of Italiana Parquet’s strongest technical qualities. Its wax-effect surface is based on acrylic resins with UV curing and 100% dry residue, without solvents. The treatment is designed to combine abrasion resistance, elasticity and strong adhesion to the wood while preserving transparency and a natural, wax-like feel. Selected floors are also available with natural oil or solvent-free UV varnish, allowing the finish to be chosen according to the desired appearance, maintenance profile and intensity of use. The wax-effect finish also incorporates antibacterial properties, making it suitable for demanding residential and contract interiors.
The portfolio moves beyond conventional straight planks. Different widths and lengths can be combined with Italian herringbone at 90 degrees, French chevron at 45 degrees and more decorative modular compositions. This variety allows the same material to shift from calm, continuous surfaces to floors with a pronounced architectural rhythm. Historic patterns are not treated as reproductions but reworked through contemporary proportions, colours and textures.
Customisation adds another level of flexibility. Projects can be developed through adjustments to colour, surface treatment, selection, dimensions and laying pattern, allowing the parquet to respond to the palette and scale of a specific interior. This is particularly valuable in private residences, hospitality and retail projects where standard finishes cannot always provide the required relationship between flooring, furniture and architectural surfaces.
Health and environmental performance are considered throughout the construction of the floor. Plywood supports comply with recognised limits for formaldehyde emissions, while adhesives, varnishes and finishing products are selected in accordance with European requirements for VOC emissions. Italiana Parquet also holds chain-of-custody certifications for certified timber products, supporting traceability from raw material to finished flooring.
Italiana Parquet’s strength lies in the way it connects industrial knowledge with the sensitivity of a specialist wood workshop. French oak, carefully controlled grading, hand-applied treatments, UV-cured protection and custom formats come together in floors that retain the individuality of natural timber while meeting the practical demands of contemporary interiors.
