GERFLOR

Flooring proven at the highest levels of performance
Few flooring manufacturers can claim experience ranging from Olympic competition surfaces to hospital corridors, hotel interiors and heavily used public spaces. Gerflor has built its reputation precisely within these demanding environments, developing floors in which design, comfort and technical performance are treated as parts of the same material.
Its authority in sports flooring is particularly significant. Gerflor surfaces have been selected for the Olympic Games since 1976, across thirteen consecutive editions, and are approved by major international sporting federations. Developed to balance grip, controlled sliding, ball response, shock absorption and player safety, these floors must perform consistently under elite competition conditions. The same knowledge is applied to schools, local sports halls and training facilities, where durability and protection of the athlete remain equally important.
Gerflor brings a similar level of specialisation to healthcare. Homogeneous and compact vinyl floors can be welded into continuous surfaces, reducing joints in which dirt and moisture might collect. Their resistance to intensive cleaning, disinfectants, rolling equipment and constant foot traffic makes them particularly suitable for hospitals, clinics and care environments. Coordinated wall protection, handrails, corner guards and door protection allow the floor and its surrounding surfaces to be planned as one hygienic, durable system.
A major part of the portfolio is dedicated to LVT, developed in plank and tile formats with highly realistic interpretations of wood, stone, concrete and terrazzo. Different wear layers and installation methods allow the material to be adapted to residential interiors, hotels, restaurants, shops and other commercial environments. Depending on the project, LVT can be glued, clicked into place or installed as a loose-lay floor, making it equally relevant for permanent specifications and fast renovations.
Gerflor also offers rigid SPC flooring, particularly useful where dimensional stability and rapid installation are important. Selected rigid formats incorporate an acoustic backing capable of significantly reducing impact noise while adding comfort underfoot. The integrated construction avoids the need for a separate underlay, while the click system allows installation over many existing floors with limited disruption. This combination of rigidity, acoustic performance and realistic surface detail makes SPC especially effective in residential developments, hotels and renovation projects.
For hospitality and other high-traffic interiors, the choice extends from compact floors designed for rolling loads to acoustic sheet materials capable of reducing noise in corridors, guest rooms and shared areas. Protective surface treatments improve resistance to wear and staining while reducing the maintenance required throughout the life of the floor.
The portfolio is not limited to vinyl. Gerflor’s DLW linoleum is made from up to 98% natural ingredients, including linseed oil, wood flour, natural resins, cork, mineral components and a jute backing. Its defining ingredient is linseed oil, which contributes to the material’s naturally antibacterial character. Warm underfoot, highly durable and available in both compact and acoustic constructions, linoleum remains particularly relevant for schools, healthcare interiors and projects seeking a surface with a high proportion of renewable raw materials.
Across LVT, rigid SPC, sheet vinyl, homogeneous flooring, linoleum and specialist sports surfaces, Gerflor offers an unusually broad choice of formats and performance levels. The same manufacturer can provide a floor capable of supporting an Olympic competition, a hygienic continuous surface for a clinic, an acoustically comfortable solution for a hotel or a rapidly installed floor for renovation. This breadth makes Gerflor versatile without becoming generic: each material is developed around the way the space will actually be used.
