ATLAS CONCORDE
A complete ceramic system for contemporary architecture
Atlas Concorde has spent more than half a century building one of the most complete and recognisable ceramic languages in contemporary design. Founded in Fiorano Modenese in 1969, the company is the founding brand of Concorde Group, one of the leading Italian ceramic groups internationally. Today, its surfaces are distributed in more than 120 countries and specified across residential, hospitality, retail, workplace and large-scale architectural projects.
Scale is an important part of the company’s position, but its real value lies in how that industrial capacity has been organised. Atlas Concorde develops porcelain floor tiles, white-body wall tiles, outdoor surfaces and large formats as parts of a connected material system. This breadth allows architects to work with a consistent design language across an entire project, while selecting the technical characteristics required by each application.
The catalogue encompasses interpretations of marble, stone, concrete and wood, together with three-dimensional wall surfaces, decorations and special pieces. Collections are supported by an extensive choice of formats, finishes and thicknesses, allowing materials to be coordinated without requiring every surface to be identical.
This depth makes it possible to carry the same material language from bathrooms and living areas to terraces, façades and pool surrounds. Colours and textures remain visually connected, while formats, thicknesses and surface properties adapt to the demands of each setting. Architects can therefore create continuity throughout a project without compromising safety, durability or practicality.
Sensitech is an important part of this approach. Developed by Atlas Concorde Laboratories and patented in Europe, the technology combines high slip resistance with a surface that remains pleasantly tactile and easier to clean than conventional rough anti-slip finishes. Available for indoor and outdoor applications, it allows coordinated surfaces to respond appropriately to wet areas, terraces and pool surroundings without introducing an abrupt visual change.
Large formats extend this continuity across a different architectural scale. Atlas Concorde offers large-format surfaces for floors, walls, doors and architectural cladding, while Atlas Plan, launched in 2017, specialises in large porcelain slabs developed for countertops and furnishing applications. Formats up to 162 × 324 cm allow veining and texture to unfold across kitchen islands, countertops, splashbacks, tables and bespoke furniture with fewer joints and greater visual clarity. Different thicknesses respond to different uses, from lightweight cladding to surfaces requiring greater structural strength.
Atlas Concorde Habitat carries the same material vocabulary into finished objects. Established as a dedicated furnishing brand in 2021, it transforms porcelain surfaces into washbasins, vanity tops, shelving, storage elements, tables and accessories. Standard products sit alongside contract solutions that can be adapted to project dimensions and finishes. A bathroom can therefore be developed as a complete composition in which floors, walls, basin and furniture belong naturally to the same interior.
Porcelain also moves beyond the interior. Atlas Concorde collections are used for exterior cladding and ventilated façades, where the material combines low weight, weather resistance and long-term colour stability with the visual refinement of the interior ranges. Dedicated steps, pool edges, trims and other special pieces help resolve the technical details of a project with the same precision as its principal surfaces.
The breadth of this system is supported by a strong design culture. Collaborations with Piero Lissoni, Zaha Hadid Architects, Matteo Brioni, Elisa Ossino, Mario Ferrarini and other international designers introduce distinct perspectives through product design, relief, colour and decoration. Each collaboration retains a recognisable authorship while remaining connected to the wider Atlas Concorde portfolio.
Atlas Concorde’s position rests on a combination that few manufacturers can offer at the same level: the reliability and production depth of a major ceramic group, a remarkably complete portfolio, continuous technical research and an internationally recognised design identity. Its value becomes most evident in projects that demand consistency across many spaces, surfaces and functions. From a single room to an entire building, the materials can be developed as one coherent architectural system.
